Being a parent is a choice that should not be determined by socially imposed expectations. Many may choose to be parents, but many also may choose not to.

Those who chose not to be parents may, successfully and responsibly, be able to avoid it; permanently or until they feel ready for it. Some of those who become parents choose to do it (by creating life or by nurturing it through adoption), but some actually end up being chosen for the task after untimely contraceptive decisions.

No matter the circumstances leading to parenthood, it should be understood as an unavoidable commitment to the growth and development of the children involved.
